Our goal is to provide Attorney’s and Individuals with the most advanced options for the service of court documents in the Lexington-Fayette Urban County area. We are sworn law enforcement officers, primarily serving in uniforms, but tailor our attire to get the job done.
During the last quarter our average turn around time for serving papers was 3.60 days. 84.1% of our papers were served within 3 days and 95.4% are served within 7 days. This allows you to proceed quickly with your case and reach a conclusion.
How are we able to do this? My 12 deputies have a combined experience of over 200 years. This allows us to be highly effective when talking with people and uncovering useful information to assist us in getting people served. Having a well staffed, efficient office also allows us to get the papers processed and into the hands of the deputies who are going to serve them, instead of sitting on the desk waiting for an attempt to be made when there is time.
For those defendants that try to avoid service or simply won't come to the door, we do have a "wait for service" fee. In these cases, after making diligent attempts to serve the party and realizing that the defendant is avoiding service; a client can have us sit on a known location to serve the defendant as they come or go. Unlike other agencies, we have the staff in our department to accomplish this task on a regular basis if needed. We even have some clients that choose this option first because they know the defendant will try and hide. Since January 1, 2015, we have returned only 0.6% of the papers issued to us as "avoiding service". This is a statistic we are proud of and shows that we are making diligent attempts to serve our papers before returning them or going into "wait for service" mode!
